County Executive David Crowley Releases Statement Regarding the Retirement of Speaker Robin Vos

By - Feb 19th, 2026 03:32 pm

MILWAUKEE – County Executive David Crowley released the following statement regarding Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos’ retirement announcement.

“Speaker Robin Vos has served the people of Wisconsin for over two decades. While it’s no secret that I’ve disagreed with the Speaker in the past, we’ve been able to find common ground when it mattered most, delivering results for Milwaukee County residents and families. Speaker Vos joined me at the negotiating table to create Wisconsin Act 12, which delivered nearly $100 million of additional annual revenue for Milwaukee County and addressed long-standing pension challenges. We also worked together during my time in the Wisconsin State Legislature and as County Executive to produce better outcomes for young people across the Badger State, keep the Brewers in Milwaukee, and advance critical investments in public safety, affordable housing, economic development, and more. I wish Speaker Vos and his family the best in their next chapter.”
