Council file seeks details on how Project 2025 might affect Milwaukee
Common Council legislation is asking for city staff research on how the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 document might affect Milwaukee, in the event Donald Trump is elected to a second term as President in November.
Alderwoman Coggs said it is important for the Council and city officials to know what Project 2025 might bring, and to keep the potential impacts in the public discourse.
“If (Trump) is elected, it is important to already have the (Project 2025) information in hand, and to keep the public informed so that they can also discuss it and keep it top of mind,” the Alderwoman said.
Crafted by the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation, some have called the nearly 900-page Project 2025 document a blueprint for a second Trump term in office.
Alderman Chambers said Project 2025 holds potential major impacts, and “the document needs an extensive review by the (city’s) Legislative Reference Bureau.”
The Project 2025 file is expected to be scheduled for a hearing before the Judiciary and Legislation Committee soon.
