Condolences for the family of Brooklyn Harris

Statement from Alderman Rainey July 15, 2019

By - Jul 15th, 2019 02:25 pm

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Brooklyn Harris, the three-year-old girl whose life was taken in a road rage shooting on Saturday morning (July 13) in the 7th Aldermanic District.

Brooklyn Harris had a long future of success and happiness to look forward to, and I’m deeply angered that her life was cut short by a senseless act of gun violence. Despite the difficulty associated with this time of grieving, I’m thankful that the Milwaukee Police Department arrested the individual they believe to be responsible for Brooklyn’s death. I also urge all residents of the 7th District and the greater Milwaukee community to pay respects to Brooklyn Harris and her family.

I am the father of a happy and healthy four-year-old girl, and this horrific killing has shaken and saddened me deeply.

We need to continue to work together to end the senseless violence in our community.
