Community Block Grant Funding input needed at public hearing TONIGHT

Council members looking for input to help create jobs, development activity

Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, chair of the Community and Economic Development Committee, is asking Milwaukee residents and representatives of community organizations and non-profits to attend a special public hearing set for TONIGHT to prioritize funding proposals for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

Alderman Stamper said the Community and Economic Development Committee will hold the public hearing to obtain citizen comments on the proposed funding categories for the 2026 Community Development Funding Allocation Plan (FAP) at 6 p.m. TONIGHT – Monday, November 3 at the Mitchell Street Library at 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. (agenda here).

“We want and need community members to play an integral and positive role in the CDBG funding process, and we strongly encourage neighbors to make plans to attend tonight’s public hearing,” Alderman Stamper said.

The FAP incorporates strategic direction for the following grants:

• Community Development Block Grant

• HOME Investment Partnerships

• Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) and

• Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA covers the 4 County Milwaukee Metropolitan Area).

The Funding Allocation Plan is available to the public and can be accessed on the CDGA website at www.Milwaukee.gov/CDGA.

Written comments on the 2026 Funding Allocation Plan can be submitted during the public comment period of October 3, 2025 to November 4, 2025 to: Mr. Mario Higgins; Director, Community Development Grants Administration; City Hall – 200 E. Wells Street, Room 606; Milwaukee, WI. 53202
