FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 29, 2023 – WEST ALLIS, WIS – The City of West Allis, along with the West Allis Events Committee have announced this year’s Independence Day celebrations for Saturday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 4.

Saturday, July 1 will feature the annual Independence Day Parade which draws about 6,000 attendees each year. This year’s parade will feature marching bands, vintage vehicles, and live performances from groups like the Dancing Grannies and the 610 Stompers. The Dancing Grannies are an award-winning choreographed dance pompom group made up of grannies in their fifties to mid-seventies. This year, they have paired up with the 610 Stompers, a group of “ordinary men” with “extraordinary moves” out of New Orleans. It’s a pairing you won’t want to miss! The parade will start at 10 a.m. at 77th Street and Greenfield Avenue and continue east on Greenfield Avenue towards 70th Street and end at Orchard Avenue in the City of West Allis. The parade is sponsored by Ironworkers Local 8, Granite Hills Hospital, Ozinga, 160 Driving Academy, West Allis Downtown BID, and Grebe’s Bakery.

New this year, the concert and Festival Foods Fireworks display on Tuesday, July 4, will be held at the West Allis Athletic Complex at Nathan Hale High School, located at 11601 W. Lincoln Avenue.
