MILWAUKEE—The public is welcome to join the celebration of the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA Championship downtown on Thursday, and multiple City departments are working to make sure the festivities run as smoothly as possible.

The parade will begin around 11 a.m. on the eastern end of Wisconsin Avenue. The parade watchers are invited to line the route starting west of the pedestrian crossing where Prospect and Wisconsin Avenues meet.

After moving west along Wisconsin Avenue, the parade will turn north on Water Street, ending at Knapp Street. Festivities will continue in Block 6 of Deer District, which is located directly north of Fiserv Forum between Vel R. Phillips Avenue and Fifth Street. The stage will be on the north side of Block 6 near the intersection of Fifth Street and McKinley Avenue.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to come to the center of our city and honor the victorious Bucks,” Mayor Tom Barrett said. “The team has brought Milwaukee together in a special way, shining positive, worldwide attention on our community. This is a time to celebrate with enthusiasm!”

Parade watchers are asked not to camp, place furniture, or reserve spaces along the parade route during the overnight hours prior to the event.

Street closures and parking restrictions will be in place. Everyone is encouraged to pay careful attention to the posted signs and directions from city officials.

For people driving downtown, good information about parking options is available at parkmilwaukee.com.

“Tens of thousands of people who came downtown Tuesday to celebrate the Bucks victory did so safely and respectfully,” Mayor Barrett said. “We are counting on everyone to continue reveling responsibly in the coming days.”
