Chris Larson Addresses Nomination Decision
"While today's ruling was understandable given the clarity of the statute, I am disappointed that my friends Jim and Bryan will not be on the ballot."
Milwaukee, WI – In response to today’s Milwaukee County Circuit Court decision removing Jim Sullivan and Bryan Kennedy from the ballot, Senator Chris Larson released this statement:
“While today’s ruling was understandable given the clarity of the statute, I am disappointed that my friends Jim and Bryan will not be on the ballot.
“Since day one of this campaign, I’ve said that the people should decide this election, not outside influences or people looking to rig the system. I signed a clean campaign pledge eschewing dark money and corporate PAC contributions and, over the last few weeks, was hopeful that those who signed both Jim and Bryan’s nomination papers and volunteered to get them on the ballot would have their voices heard and we could proceed with a debate about the future of our shared community.
“I will continue to run a positive campaign, reach out directly to voters, and fight for our parks, for transit, and for our neighbors who are struggling the most. I am proud of the support we’ve earned so far, including the endorsements of American Federation of Teachers Local 212, Teamsters Local 200 and 344, Voces de la Frontera Action, and Black Leaders Organizing for Communities.”
Chris Larson is the State Senator for Wisconsin’s 7th District and former Milwaukee County Supervisor. Larson grew up in Greenfield and is a life-long resident of Milwaukee County. Larson is running for Milwaukee County Executive to build a county where every Milwaukeean can thrive.
