Parks, Energy and Environment Committee unanimously approves Chairwoman’s pick of Patty Pritchard Thompson
Milwaukee – Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman is pleased to announce her appointment of community activist and volunteer Patty Pritchard Thompson to the Milwaukee County Parks Commission, effective immediately for a term expiring August 1, 2015.
“Patty is the perfect choice to fill this available post, based on her extensive involvement in community events, notably those held in — and benefitting — Milwaukee County Parks,” said Chairwoman Dimitrijevic.
Pritchard Thompson is the Past President of the Bay View Neighborhood Association and was named the “Bay View Person of the Year” in 2009.
Pritchard Thompson has secured sponsorships for “Chill on the Hill,” the popular and successful outdoor summer music series in Humboldt Park in Bay View; led fundraising efforts for the Pumpkin Pavilion, a family-friendly Halloween event in Humboldt Park; participated in Beach Clean-up efforts at Bay View Beach; and assisted the Bay View Lions with the future of the Shore Shore Frolics, a beloved, annual tradition in Bay View.
The Milwaukee County Parks Advisory Commission provides policy and funding guidance to the County Board on issues such as budget, preservation and maintenance needs of the County Parks.
