Celebrate the Holidays in Bloom at “The Domes Holiday Parade,” A Multicultural Floral Show Honoring the Season’s Traditions

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Mitchell Park Domes invites the community to experience a dazzling new holiday floral show: The Domes Holiday Parade. This year’s show is a vibrant tribute to winter’s most beloved holidays, bringing together the traditions of Advent, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Visitors can explore beautifully designed stationary floats honoring each of these celebrations, set against a lush, colorful bed of poinsettias, the quintessential holiday flower.

The show features a stunning array of poinsettia varieties such as the classic ‘Red Ribbon’, the elegant ‘Polar Bear’, and the unique ‘Candy Wintergreen’. Each display in the Holiday Parade captures the beauty and spirit of these seasonal festivities, offering a memorable experience for guests of all ages.

“Our goal with The Domes Holiday Parade, is to create an experience that is both visually stunning and emotionally restorative,” said Doris Maki, Horticultural Director at Milwaukee County Parks Mitchell Park Domes.

The Domes Holiday Parade runs from November 23, 2024, through January 5, 2025, at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes), located at 524 S Layton Blvd., Milwaukee, WI 53215.

  • Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday, and Major Holidays: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Admission Pricing:
  • Milwaukee County Residents:
    • Adult: $8.00
    • Junior (3-12), Senior (60+), Student, Military: $6.00
    • Children (2 & under): Free
  • Non-Residents:
    • Adult, Senior (60+): $9.00
    • Junior (3-12), Student, Military: $6.00
    • Children (2 & under): Free
• Special Discount: Enjoy $5 admission for all on the last Thursday of every month, part of Milwaukee County’s discount days.

In addition to the breathtaking displays, The Domes will host a series of special events to enhance the holiday experience at no additional cost:

• Late Nights at The Domes with Light Shows — November 29; December 10, 17, and tentatively December 27. Extended hours from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with dazzling light shows at 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, and 7:30 p.m. (last admission at 7:00 p.m.).
• Storyteller Santa — November 30, December 1, 7, and 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. each day. Bring the family for festive storytelling sessions with Santa himself.
• Gutekunsk Flute Choir — November 30 from 11:00am-11:45am. Start your celebrations with the unique sound of a flute orchestra playing holiday favorites on all kinds of flutes!
• School of Rock — December 10 from 6pm-8pm. The School of Rock hit the Show Dome stage, playing pop and rock classics, plus holiday favorites.
• The Gentle Troubadour, David HB Drake — December 14 and December 22, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Enjoy live music as David HB Drake, “The Gentle Troubadour,” serenades visitors with heartwarming holiday tunes.
• Ko-Thi’s Master Drummers — December 27 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Celebrate Kwanzaa with Ko-thi’s master drummers!
