Cascio Music Celebrates a Successful 19th Annual Drummerfest
This annual free drum event offers live performances and clinical instruction, giving fans and drummers exclusive access to some of the world’s best drummers.
MILWAUKEE, WI (October 21, 2019) – Cascio Music, a musical instrument retailer in New Berlin, WI, welcomed over 300 drum enthusiasts on Saturday, October 12th for Drummerfest 2019. This annual free drum event offers live performances and clinical instruction, giving fans and drummers exclusive access to some of the world’s best drummers.
Nick Cesarz, founder of DrummingReview.com (a well-known drum gear blog), said “Drummerfest 2019 was incredible. I’m lucky to live so close.” He continued, “Without a doubt, one of my favorite events of the year.”
Drummerfest kicked off with a rousing performance by the Milwaukee Bucks Beats drumline, who marched their way through the 30,000 square foot Cascio Music SuperStore before heading to the stage to share a preview of their new arrangements for the upcoming Milwaukee Bucks season.
Drummerfest attendees were then treated to first-rate performances from drumming superstars Calvin Rodgers (Fred Hammond, R. Kelly, Kirk Franklin), Gerald Heyward (Puff Daddy, Coolio, Beyoncé), and Carter McLean (NYC Jazz Drummer, Lion King on Broadway, 4HD: Four Hands Drumming drum courses).
Favorite moments from the crowd included:
- Calvin Rodger’s performance of James Fortune’s “Free Indeed”
- Carter McLean teaching rudiments from his new book Drumset Concepts & Creativity: Find Your Unique Voice on the Drumset
- Gerald Heyward, the Godfather of gospel and R&B drumming, entertaining and inspiring future drummers with stories of coming up as a young drummer and his practice regimen
- The high-energy All-Star Jam finale with all three drum superstars
In addition to the amazing live performances, attendees were able to get up close and personal with the featured artists for photos and autographs, win amazing prizes including a complete Ludwig drum set, and get into gear details with brand representatives from Drummerfest sponsors Pearl, Zildjian, Ludwig, Meinl, Remo, Vic Firth, DW Drums, and ProMark.
“Once again, we are thrilled with audience response to Drummerfest,” said Mike Houser, CEO of Cascio Music. “What an experience to hear these amazing, world-class drummers in a small, intimate setting. We can’t wait for the 20th annual Drummerfest in 2020!”
