Candidate for Aldermanic 5th District, Matt Elder, Endorsed By the Milwaukee Police Association

Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Police Association has endorsed Matt Elder in the special election for the aldermanic seat in Milwaukee’s fifth district. The general election to decide this race will be on the November 6th ballot for voters within the district.

Shawn Lauda, Vice President of the Milwaukee Police Association states, “For a community to truly flourish and reach its potential, public safety is paramount.  Matt Elder, candidate for the 5th Aldermanic District, fully understands this philosophy and pledges to make this his priority. The Milwaukee Police Association proudly endorses Matt Elder for alderman!”

Elder says of the endorsement, “It’s important to me and it’s important for residents in our district. Any elected representatives number one priority should be public safety, especially at the local level, in a district that has significant issues to address. Having the Milwaukee Police Association’s support and their members’ support of my campaign demonstrates that they recognize my hard work on this door to door campaign and that public safety of Milwaukee’s residents’ is priority number one of mine.”

Matt Elder received the endorsement of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council (AFL-CIO) prior to the August primary election. This now places two different, strong local unions behind the first-time candidate for elected local office, an impressive show of support from labor and from law enforcement for a candidate running against a one-term establishment state senator.
