Candidate for Alderman Endorsed by Milwaukee Professional Firefighters Union
"It's great to know the firefighters have got my back in this very competitive race."
Matt Elder‘s campaign for the vacant Aldermanic seat in Milwaukee’s 5th District has gained even more momentum leading up to the November 6th election. In his first bid for public office, Matt Elder has now picked up the endorsement of the Milwaukee Professional Fire Fighters, Local 215. Local 215 represents the firefighters in the City of Milwaukee.
“It’s great to know the firefighters have got my back in this very competitive race,” said Elder. “The support of fire fighters in this local race means a lot to me and to our campaign for Alderman. Public Safety is priority number one for voters and for me as Alderman. With the support of Police and Fire behind me, it’s pretty clear that I’m the public safety candidate.”
Asked if there are any more endorsements about to be announced, Elder responded “We’re working hard knocking doors, dropping campaign literature, and earning voter support and votes. Having the support of of all these hard working folks keeps me motivated when I’m knocking doors and meeting voters in the district.”
This endorsement now places all three of the significant local unions behind the first-time candidate. Elder had earlier in the campaign been endorsed by the Milwaukee Police Association and the Milwaukee Area Labor Council (AFL-CIO).
