Tis’ the season to get artsy. To help, Café Corazón will host an adults-only, folk-art-themed paint and sip* after-hours event from 8-10 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the Café Corazón at 2394 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View.

The hands-on workshop pairs artistic fun with Mexican favorites and festive cocktails. Tickets cost $45 per person and include all art supplies, complimentary chips, guacamole, and Corazon’s famous house-made spicy salsa verde. Corazon’s full bar will also be open during the paint and sip, so attendees can purchase some liquid artistic inspiration. Guests can sign up to attend the class via this Eventbrite page.

Local Milwaukee Artist Jenny Jo Wennlund, renowned for her vibrant murals located throughout Milwaukee, will lead the boozy, 21+ art class.

“Along with being an accomplished painter, Jenny Jo excels at making art approachable and fun,” said Kelsey McGuire, the General Manager at Café Corazón Bay View. “It’s going to be a great night. The margaritas will be flowing, and attendees will take home the art they create during the paint and sip.”

Along with the complimentary chips, the bar will be open to non-painting sippers, too. “Bring out your non-artist friends, as well,” McGuire added. “Everyone’s invited to join us to make the season bright or to score a small reprieve from the holiday madness on the 14th.”
