Bynum and Olsen Qualify for NCAA West First Round
Both set or tied program records this season
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Marquette University track & field student-athletes Annika Bynum and Danny Olsen have qualified for the NCAA West First Round in the high jump and 400-meter.
The Wadsworth, Illinois native joins Erynn James ’10 and Lindsey Mirkes ’22 as the only women’s high jumpers to qualify for NCAA outdoor competition at least two times since the 2003 season.
Olsen won gold and broke his own program record with a time of 46.21 seconds in the 400-meter at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, becoming Marquette’s first ever conference champion in the event.
The Evergreen Park, Illinois native is making his first NCAA appearance.
The first round of the 400-meter is Wednesday, May 28 at 7:25 p.m. CT. The semifinals of the high jump are Saturday, May 31 at 3:30 p.m. CT.
