Business and Resident Meeting on the Lisbon Avenue Project set for Tuesday

Alderman Lamont Westmoreland invites residents to the Business and Resident Meeting on the Lisbon Avenue Project on Tuesday, February 17 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Join the City of Milwaukee and the W. Lisbon Avenue Public Involvement Team to learn about upcoming construction staging and impacts in 2026. The project team will specifically share information regarding the reconstruction operations from W. Burleigh Street to N. 86th Street.

“The support and patience for the Lisbon Avenue rebuild has been unwavering, and I hope for a smooth continuation in the final stretch of the project. Like you, I wait in anticipation for the final results,” said Alderman Westmoreland.

Phase three of the project will take place from April to July 2026 and includes reconstruction on the westbound side of W. Lisbon Avenue from N. 86th Street to W. Burleigh Street. Phase four (final phase) will take place from July to October 2026 and includes the reconstruction on the eastbound side of W. Lisbon Avenue from N. 86th Street to W. Burleigh Street.

The open house meeting format on Tuesday will feature the team’s goals to remove and replace deteriorated pavement along with sewer and utility equipment, introduce permeable pavers and bioswales to improve stormwater drainage, construct a roundabout at N. 84th St., and reallocate space on the street later this month. It will also serve as an opportunity to learn more about key Lisbon project spring 2026 operations: tree planting, remaining sod installation, and final pavement markings from 86th to 100th.
