Brunch of Professionals Hosting Autumn Brunch At Deer District
BOP invites women to usher in Autumn with food and conversation
Brunch of Professionals will host its quarterly women’s brunch, Autumn Brunch in the Deer District, at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at The Mecca.
This year marks the 8th year the organization has curated networking brunches in the Milwaukee-area.
“We are thrilled to host our quarterly women’s brunch in the heart of downtown Milwaukee,” said Kristen Hardy, visionary and co-founder of Brunch of Professionals. “The 2023 Brunch of Professionals Experience has not disappointed. This year, we’ve partnered almost exclusively with women-owned businesses and bosses to provide attendees with interesting experiences in unexpected places.”
In honor of Women’s History Month in March, Brunch of Professionals hosted “Brunch & Bubbly” at Brunch, a woman-owned restaurant in Milwaukee. In July, the organization partnered with Husch Blackwell to host “Brunch with a View” on the law firm’s new rooftop terrace. The event featured brunch and dessert items from women-led businesses, including Press Waffles and Classy Girl Cupcakes.
This month’s event invites attendees into The Mecca located in the Deer District, home to the Fiserv Forum. “For some, the space is unconventional for brunch,” said Makda Fessahaye, co-founder of Brunch of Professionals. “But the opportunity to bring our attendees into unconventional spaces to eat good, off the menu meals is one way BOP differentiates itself from other networking organizations. I think it’s one of the many reasons why we continue to have reoccurring attendees after 8 years.” Past attendees include Lauren Feaster (CEO, Professional Dimensions), Tiffany Tardy (President & CEO, PEARLS for Teen Girls), Rebecca Mitich, Milwaukee Office Managing Partner, Husch Blackwell) and Nadya Perez-Reyes (Assistant Secretary, Wisconsin Department of Children and Families).
Despite what the name suggests, the events are about more than just brunch. In July, attendees openly discussed self-care challenges and tips. “We don’t hold ourselves out as experts on these topics, but it’s important that we curate safe spaces for women to openly share and support one another through all kinds of endeavors,” said Hardy. “Every conversation isn’t heady. We do our best to strike a balance between fun and informative.”
Autumn Brunch attendees are encouraged to come with an open mind and appetite.
