Bronzeville Week continues with events focused on wellness, arts and more
Bronzeville Week, an official City of Milwaukee event hosted by Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs now in its 13th year, continues this week and will include a variety of family-friendly events and vendors that promote health, art, culture, commerce, and a positive atmosphere in the Bronzeville neighborhood for all to enjoy.
The Bronzeville Business Breakfast kicks off Wednesday, August 7. The event will take place at TriveOn, 2153 N. Dr. MLK Jr. Drive from 8 – 11 a.m. Registration is required and can be accessed at tinyurl.com/4hpczsje. BeFocused: Meal Planning begins at noon at Food For Health, 2007 N. Dr. MLK Jr. Drive. Registration is required and can be accessed at foodforhealth.org. Also taking place at noon is Cool Aid & Canvases. The event is hosted at The King Drive Commons Gallery and Studio, 2775 N. Dr. MLK Drive. The day concludes with A Story of Madame Goldye Steiner, the first Black woman cantor from 5:30 – 7 p.m. The event will occur at Gallery 507, 507 W. North Ave.
Thursday, August 8 begins with Bronzeville Trolley Rides. Rides will begin at 2 and 3:30 p.m., and will pick up passengers at America’s Black Holocaust Museum, 408 W. North Ave. An evening filled with events starts with Be Fueled: Meal Prep Cooking Class from 5 – 6 p.m. at Food For Health, 2007 N. Dr. MLK Jr. Drive. Registration is required and can be accessed at foodforhealth.org. Next, a Bronzeville Week favorite, Paint-N-Sip, runs from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Bronzeville Kitchen and Lounge, 2053 N. Dr. MLK Jr. Drive. Space is limited. Finally, the day wraps up with a Mural Celebration: Re-igniting the Clinton Rose Park Friends Group. The event will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. at Clinton Rose Park, 3045 N. Dr. MLK Jr. Drive.
