We are poised to begin a five game National League Division Series (NLDS) tomorrow versus the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field. It will be the first time the Brewers play the Cubs in the playoffs, and it features our MLB-best Brewers and skipper Pat Murphy going up against a talented Cubs team led by former Brewers manager Craig Counsell.
Many exciting story lines in this one. However, we also know that the Amtrak Hiawatha provides vital daily train service connecting our two cities, as it is 85 miles from the downtown Intermodal Station to Chicago’s Union Station. Brewers fans taking the train know that Wrigley Field is 4.5 miles north of Union Station. Vice versa, Cubs fans taking the train know that Am Fam Field is just 2.5 miles west of the Intermodal Station. It is clear that this Milwaukee-Chicago NLDS is the Hiawatha Series that fans on both sides have been waiting for!
We know Cubs fans like to come up to Am Fam Field because there’s a bit more elbow room here than at the historic Friendly Confines, and tailgating happens here on a professional level.
We wish Murph and the team the best in the series, and we implore Brewers ticket holders to keep their tickets in the hands of those rooting for the Crew only. This October baseball is very special, so let’s keep Am Fam Field roaring most loudly for our Brewers.
Beat the Cubs!
