Brewers Sign 22 International Free Agents

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the signing of 22 international free agents on the first day of the 2026 international signing period.

“Today is a proud day for our international scouting staff and is the first step toward the Major Leagues for our 22 signees,” said Director of International Scouting and Player Personnel Taylor Green. “This signing class has the potential to be special. Years of hard work and dedication from our scouting staff led to this day, and we’re thrilled to welcome these players and their families to the organization.”

Among the signees are five of Baseball America’s top 100 international prospects for the 2026 signing period, including Venezuelan shortstops Diego Frontado (ranked No. 24 overall) and José Rodríguez (No. 28) and Dominican shortstop Ricki Moneys (No. 39). The Brewers also inked Baseball America top 100 prospects in Venezuelan catcher Moises Salazar (No. 68) and Dominican shortstop Angeni Fernandez (No. 98).

Moneys (No. 20 overall), Frontado (No. 24) and Rodríguez (No. 49) are also ranked among MLB Pipeline’s top 50 international prospects for the 2026 signing period.

“I want to thank our international scouting and front office staff for their outstanding work throughout the year,” said Director of International Player Evaluation Luis Pérez. “We’re excited about this new class, a group whose athleticism, tools, physical projection and diverse profiles will make a strong impact on our organization.”

Outfielder Jackson Chourio, who in 2025 became the youngest player (21 years, 199 days) in Major League history to produce multiple seasons of at least 20 HR and 20 SB, was signed by the Brewers on the first day of the 2021 international signing period. Infielders Jesús Made and Luis Peña, who enter the 2026 season as the top two prospects in the organization according to Baseball America, were signed by Milwaukee on the first day of the 2024 international signing period.
