Brewers Set Dates to Celebrate Achievements of Brewers Legends, Ryan Braun and Robin Yount

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today announced dates to celebrate two legendary Brewers players who spent the entirety of their Major League Baseball careers in a Brewers uniform.

Ryan Braun, the Brewers all-time franchise home run leader, six-time All-Star, 2007 National League Rookie of the Year and 2011 National League MVP will be inducted into to the Walk of Fame on Sunday, July 28. Fans will have an opportunity to celebrate Braun when he makes his return for the official induction, pre-game ceremony and ceremonial first pitch, joined by several Brewers alums.

Hall of Famer Robin Yount will be celebrated on Sunday, Aug. 18 as the Milwaukee Brewers honor the 50^th anniversary of Yount’s Major League debut. The three-time All Star, two-time American League MVP, three-time Silver Slugger Award and Gold Glove Award winner is revered by generations of Brewers fans. Yount will be honored on field and throw a ceremonial first pitch. The first 10,000 ticketed fans will receive an exclusive Robin Yount t-shirt upon entry to the game.

Braun Inducted into Walk of Fame
Earlier this year, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that Ryan Braun will become the 23^rd individual to be inducted into the Walk of Fame and will be commemorated with a granite-shaped home plate set in the ground outside of American Family Field. Members of the Walk of Fame are elected by Wisconsin media members and Brewers executives and must receive a minimum of 65 percent of the votes. Braun received 80 percent of the vote.

Braun played his entire 14-year Major League career with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2007-20 and is among the franchise leaders in nearly every offensive category.

In 2022, Braun was inducted into the Brewers Wall of Honor, an accolade based on established statistical, service year and award achievements for players, coaches and executives who spent time with the Brewers organization. He joined the permanent exhibit with a bronze plaque affixed to the exterior of the ballpark commemorating his contributions.

Braun finished his career as a .296 hitter with 352 HR, 1,154 RBI and 216 stolen bases in 1,766 games. In addition to his MVP and All-Star Game appearances, he was a five-time Silver Slugger Award winner and the 2007 National League Rookie of the Year. He helped lead the Brewers to the postseason five times (2008, 2011 and 2018-20).

Braun also ranks among the franchise’s top three in RBI (2nd), slugging percentage (2nd, .532), OPS (2nd, .891), extra-base hits (2nd, 809), total bases (2nd, 3,525), doubles (2nd, 408), runs (3rd, 1,080), hits (3rd, 1,963), triples (3rd, 49), stolen bases (3rd), at-bats (3rd, 6,622) and walks (3rd, 586). He also ranks fourth in franchise history in games played and batting average.

From the date of his Major League debut – May 25, 2007 – through the 2020 season, Braun ranked among the top five in the majors in extra-base hits (T2nd), runs (3rd), RBI (3rd), total bases (4th), hits (5th), doubles (5th) and HR (5th).

Robin Yount’s 50^th Anniversary of Major League Debut
Robin Yount played an incredible 20-years (1974-93) with the Milwaukee Brewers, winning the American League Most Valuable Player Award at two positions and establishing himself as one of the most versatile players in history.

Selected by Milwaukee in the first round (No. 3 overall) of the 1973 First-Year Player Draft, Yount made his debut for Milwaukee at the age of 18 on Opening Day in 1974 as the Brewers starting shortstop.

He earned All-Star selections in 1980, 1982 and 1983. He was a near-unanimous pick for American League MVP in 1982, becoming the fourth AL shortstop to win the MVP Award, and in 1989 he won his second MVP award – at the time only the third player to win MVPs at two different positions.

A three-time Silver Slugger Award winner and a Gold Glove recipient, Yount is the franchise leader in games (2,856), at-bats (11,008), runs (1,632), hits (3,142), doubles (583), triples (126), RBI (1,406), total bases (4,730) and walks (966).

Yount has a statue in his honor outside of American Family Field and is one of six former players or executives to have a number retired by the Brewers.
