Brewers Players Partner With Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity to Build New Home
MILWAUKEE, WI (May 26, 2025) – On Tuesday, Brewers Community Foundation (BCF), the charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers, teamed up with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, local and state elected officials, and community supporters to build the first wall of a new home. They were joined by Milwaukee Brewers players Brandon Woodruff, DL Hall, and first baseman Andrew Vaughn who traded their ball caps for hard hats as they helped build a Milwaukee Habitat home.
Joining the build were Mayor Cavalier Johnson and State Senator LaTonya Johnson. Their participation highlights a shared commitment to expanding access to affordable homeownership across Milwaukee.
“Events like this demonstrate what’s possible when a community comes together,” said Brian Sonderman, CEO of Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. “Through partnerships with organizations like Brewers Community Foundation and Prime Financial Credit Union, we’re able to help more local families achieve the stability and long-term financial strength that comes with owning a home.”The non-profit organization helps families invest in stability and equity of homeownership. The home is one of 40 Milwaukee Habitat plans to build this year, each to be sold to first-time homebuyers at an affordable price. Habitat homebuyers contribute “sweat equity” hours by helping build their homes and purchase them with an affordable mortgage, supporting long-term stability for their families.
Brewers Community Foundation’s sponsorship of this home reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening the Milwaukee community. Prime Financial Credit Union, also supporting the event, partners with Milwaukee Habitat to provide lending services that make homeownership accessible for local families.
