Brewers and Northwestern Mutual Host Childhood Cancer Awareness Weekend, September 6-8

Series of Activations to Benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Childhood Cancer Research

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers and Northwestern Mutual recognize Childhood Cancer Awareness Month on September 6-8, in the series against Colorado as the apex of the season-long campaign in support of the cause.

For the entire season, Northwestern Mutual has donated and continues to donate funds equivalent to five hours of research for every Run Batted In (RBI) that the Brewers hit, both home and away. To date, the Brewers have tallied 645 RBI, equaling 3,225 hours of research to improve treatment methods and ultimately find a cure for childhood cancer.

In the weekend series against Colorado, the Milwaukee Brewers and Brewers Community Foundation will donate $1 for every ticket sold to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to help fund better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Fans at the ballpark will have the opportunity to add to that donation in various ways throughout the weekend, such as by rounding up their purchases to the nearest dollar at any Brewers Team Store location or Delaware North concessions stand. Fans can further support by purchasing tickets in the ever-popular 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from the games on September 6-8 will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

For each game of the series, a child affected by childhood cancer will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and further be involved in other gameday experiences throughout the game.

Notably, on Saturday, September 7, Brewers players will greet and join 22 local children and young adults affected by childhood cancer on the field and present them with an autographed Brewers baseball cap with a gold MLB ribbon, before standing in unison during the National Anthem. Also on Saturday, Brewers alum, Bill Hall, will meet and sign autographs for fans at the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation kiosk prior to that game in exchange for donations to support childhood cancer research.

Fans are encouraged to stop by the Northwestern Mutual activation to play “Lemon Drop.” Whichever slot the lemon lands in will correlate to the dollar amount that Northwestern Mutual will donate to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation on behalf of the fan. Fans can find the activation booth on the Field Level concourse behind Section 121.
