Brewers Acquire First Baseman/Ooutfielder Andrew Vaughn from White Sox
Send Right-Handed Pitcher Aaron Civale and Cash to Chicago
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Aaron Civale and cash. Vaughn has been assigned to Triple-A Nashville. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold.
Vaughn, 27, has played five seasons in the Major Leagues (2021-25), all with the White Sox, batting .248 with 77 HR and 293 RBI in 610 games. He has started at first base (323g), left field (126g), designated hitter (84g), right field (53g), second base (1g) and third base (1g). He enjoyed his most productive season in 2023 when he produced 21 HR and 80 RBI in 152 games.
Civale, who turned 30 yesterday, has pitched in the Major Leagues with Cleveland (2019-23), Tampa Bay (2023-24) and Milwaukee (2024-25). He was 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA in 5 starts with the Brewers this season (22ip, 23h, 12r, 12er, 7bb, 19k, 5hr).
