MILWAUKEE, Wis. – (November 12, 2020) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee works to ensure the youth we serve always have what they need from exceptional programming to safe spaces, warm meals, and mentorship. We also want to ensure their holiday season is warm and bright, so the Clubs are collecting toys to provide each Club member with a gift to unwrap this holiday.

With a goal to collect 1,000 meaningful toys for all age groups, there are a number of ways individuals, families, groups and companies can get involved and help make the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee’s 2020 Toy Drive a success:

  • Shop BGCGM’s Amazon Wishlist for a contactless way to donate at: bgcgm.club/ToyDriveWishList2020.
  • Donate wrapping supplies including gift bags and tissue paper.
  • Assemble holiday decoration kits for each of BGCGM’s 35 sites, ensuring a festive atmosphere for Milwaukee’s youth.
  • Organize a safe, socially distant caroling outing at a Boys & Girls Clubs site.
  • Write holiday cards with joyful messages to our youth to be included with their gifts.
  • Make a monetary donation at bgcmilwaukee.org.
  • Aldi, We Energies Foundation and Meijer are all lead sponsors of the Toy Drive. Join them and become a sponsor as well. Learn more at bgcmilwaukee.org/toy-drive.

“It’s been a challenging year, and we want to do whatever it takes to make Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee’s 2020 Toy Drive a success. Imagine the impact you’ll have when you ensure a child has something special to open that’s just for them! Or imagine the joy you will bring to our youth and hard-working staff with your decorations or caroling,” said BGCGM President and CEO, Kathy Thornton-Bias.

Individuals, families or groups can email McKenna Olson at mckenna.olson@bgcmilwaukee.org to share how they would like to support Club kids this holiday season. McKenna will provide the necessary information and support to ensure their efforts are successful. For those choosing to donate toys, wrapping supplies or cards, please connect with McKenna to arrange pick-up or drop-off (if not ordering from Amazon).
