MADISON – The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today announced 3,057,100 total nonfarm jobs in the state, according to September 2025 preliminary estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Place of Residence Data: Wisconsin’s unemployment rate was 3.1% in September, 1.3 percentage points below the national rate of 4.4%. Wisconsin’s labor force decreased by 11,400 over the month and is down 51,500 over the year. The number of people employed decreased 10,100 over the month to 3,035,300 employed and is down 51,800 over the year.
- Place of Work Data: Total nonfarm jobs decreased 9,800 over the month and increased 17,700 over the year to 3,057,100 jobs.
