AXE MKE celebrates first birthday with weekend Axe-travaganz

Milwaukee, WI – AXE MKE, the East Side axe-throwing experience bar will celebrate its first birthday with a weekend Axe-travaganza of events.

AXE MKE has become a popular destination for Milwaukee locals and visitors. “Since opening a year ago, we’ve had so much fun hosting everything from date nights, birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties and corporate events to ‘we were just walking by and wanted to check it out’ guests,” noted Marla Poytinger, owner of Bars & Recreation, AXE MKE’s parent company. “We have a lot to celebrate, so we’re offering some brand-new experiences for Milwaukee as we turn one year old.”

The festivities will kick off with the Cake Smash party on Thursday, June 13. “Guests are always looking for something else to throw axes at, and we’ve wanted to offer piñatas for a long time,” said AXE MKE general manager Colin Boynton. “Custom birthday piñatas will be stuffed full of candy and prizes including the chance to win a pair of tickets to Billie Eilish at Summerfest.”

The Cake Smash Party will take place 6:30pm-10:00pm and include free food from Maxie’s, cupcakes from The Cake Lady, and a prize-filled cake piñata for all groups with reservations at 6:30pm or 8:30pm. Reservations are limited and can be made at www.axemke.com.

The celebration continues Friday and Saturday with a free birthday game for everyone who comes in to throw. The game will feature prizes including tickets to the Miller Lite Front Row at Summerfest, general admission tickets to Summerfest, and more.

The Axe-travaganza culminates on Sunday, June 16 with AXE MKE’s first axe-throwing tournament. “Guests who love axe-throwing often ask about one-time tournaments and we thought this was the perfect time to offer one,” added Boynton. “I guarantee the space will be electric while we cheer on our first champion.” Tournament spots are limited and can be reserved at https://axemke.eventbrite.com.

The AXE MKE Birthday Axe-travaganza is offered in partnership with Miller Lite and the Miller Lite Brew House which will feature AXE MKE sister bars, Nine Below and NorthSouth Club, for exciting Play & Win opportunities each day of Summerfest.
