Americans For Prosperity – Wisconsin’s Statement on Forthcoming JFC Action on Gov. Evers’s Budget
MADISON, WI – Tomorrow, the legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance is scheduled to remove dozens of non-fiscal and otherwise harmful policies from Gov. Evers’s budget, doing the right thing for our state and sending a message to Gov. Evers that Wisconsin needs to be more responsible with taxpayer money. Gov. Evers more than doubled the number of non-fiscal policy items in this year’s budget, and the Budget Committee is taking a stand for taxpayers.
Americans for Prosperity – Wisconsin (AFP-WI) State Director Eric Bott released the following statement leading up to the Budget Committee’s anticipated action:
“The legislature is doing the right thing for the people of Wisconsin. Gov. Evers’s budget includes a littany of items Americans For Prosperity – Wisconsin opposes, including unsustainable spending, tax hikes on struggling families, higher healthcare costs, and much more.’
‘We commend the committee for opposing the Governor’s wasteful spending proposals and applaud them for their courage. We will stand by the legislature throughout this process and encourage them to stand firm in opposition to the Governor’s continued reckless spending proposals.”
