Over the past several months, Dan Adams has toured 15 schools in the City of Milwaukee.
June 11, 2014 – – Milwaukee, Wisconsin – – Over the past several months, Dan Adams has toured 15 schools in the City of Milwaukee to speak directly with educators, school leaders, and parents about Milwaukee’s educational landscape. The Adams campaign has posted a complete list of the toured schools on its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/adamsforassembly
Adams released the following statement regarding his tour:
“Improving Milwaukee’s educational landscape is the primary challenge facing our city. Rather than accept the talking points of others, I wanted to speak directly with educators and principals in Milwaukee schools.
We have a collection of exceptional schools in Milwaukee and many wonderful educators. We also have undeniable challenges to confront. The “system” taken as a whole is inadequately serving our children. Low graduation rates, the racial achievement gap, and daunting waiting lists for high-achieving schools demonstrates the deficiency. I am committed to learning more from educators and school leaders so that together we can improve educational outcomes for more children in Milwaukee.”
Adams believes legislation at the State level could improve education for Milwaukee’s children. He looks forward to further discussing education with voters in the 19th District over the summer.
