$75,000 grant to assist the Muslim Community and Health Center of Wisconsin in addressing behavioral health
Today, the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation presented a $75,000 grant to the Muslim Community and Health Center of Wisconsin for the next two years aimed at reducing behavioral health disparities in Wisconsin. The grant will support the Center’s efforts to treat, educate, and engage refugee populations and low-income families in order to improve behavioral health and mitigate drug use and dependency issues. The program participants will be connected to providers and/or interpreters who speak their preferred language and can provide necessary health and social services, offer referrals to additional resources, and ensure compliance with treatment.
Alderman Scott Spiker believes this funding will have a significant impact on the surrounding area. “The Muslim Community and Health Center of Wisconsin has been doing tremendous work to uplift refugees and other members of the community for 20 years. This grant funding will allow them to expand access to behavioral health care that could literally save lives. I want to thank the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation for recognizing the Center’s work and investing in this amazing non-profit,” he said.Additional information on the Muslim Community and Health Center of Wisconsin, located at 803 W.
