Independent Filmmaker Austin Galante Premieres New Feature Film What Have We Won at Milwaukee’s Historic Downer Theatre

Independent filmmaker Austin Galante will premiere his latest feature film, What Have We Won, on Saturday, May 2 at the iconic The Downer Theatre. The event will feature a red carpet beginning at 11:30 a.m., followed by the film screening.

What Have We Won stars Robert LaSardo alongside Austin Galante and Matthew Kenner, and features a soundtrack including Cappadonna of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. The film tells the story of two down-on-their-luck friends who win the lottery and attempt to start over by heading west to live a quiet life in the mountains—only to discover that their past and poor decisions are never far behind.

The premiere marks Galante’s fourth feature film in just three years, all produced locally in Milwaukee and across Wisconsin. Known for blending character-driven storytelling with unconventional humor and grounded realism, Galante continues to build a growing body of independent work outside the traditional studio system.
