Marquette University Symphony Orchestra Grand Finale & Senior Recognition Concert

April 24, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm

FREE

The Marquette University Symphony Orchestra, lead by Music Director Robin Engl, will present their final concert for the 2015.16 season on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Marquette University Varsity Theatre (1326 W. Wisconsin Ave. | Milwaukee, WI 53233). This performance is free and open to the public.

The first half of the program will feature Gershwin’s joyful and spontaneous “Cuban Overture,” as well as guest artist, Rick Aaron, on Georg Telemann’s “Suite for Flute and Orchestra in A minor.” Aaron, a Milwaukee residential musician, has performed with a wide range of ensembles from playing in pit orchestras for Broadway shows at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts to performing in jazz clubs in downtown Milwaukee, and even serving as a substitute flutist for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He has studied flute with Eldridge Meyer, Sam Baron, John Burgess, and Israel Borouchoff.

For the second half of the program, the symphony will conclude their year with Ludwig van Beethoven’s famous Symphony No. 7, Op. 92. Additionally, the graduating seniors of the MUSO will be recognized for their years of hard work and dedication. So mark your calendars for what’s certain to be a truly unforgettable musical experience.
