Celebrate and Advocate for A Green Downtown MKE

October 8, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Friends of Milwaukee’s Downtown Forest invites the citizens of Milwaukee to join our Petition Drive to advocate for a Food Forest in downtown Milwaukee.
We will gather in the gardens at St Francis Church on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3 PM. This date is the Feast of St Francis.

We do this in commemoration of Laudato Si from Pope Francis who has asked us to care for the earth, for its people, especially the poor, and for a fair share for all. These too are the ethical principles of permaculture design.

We advocate for a livable city that creates a permaculture designed green space that nurtures a livable community, captures rainwater and carbon, cleans the air, mitigates the heat island effect, and produces food and blue/ green jobs. At the completion of the Petition Drive on the Feast Day of St. Martin de Porres, November 3, 2017, we will present copies of the petition to Wangard Partners Inc, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele.
