Nepotism Wins, Wisconsinites Lose

Tonight, Sean Duffy’s son-in-law, Michael Alfonso, was able to ride nepotism, daddy-in-law’s money, and a Trump endorsement to the Republican nomination for Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District.

“Michael Alfonso is just as much of an embarrassment to his party as Sean Duffy, and he made that clear impressively quickly,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Monica Venzke. “Wisconsinites deserve a Representative who fights for them, not a nepo baby whose only qualification is his father-in-law’s connection to Trump. He and Tom Tiffany will be able to watch WI-07 flip at their respective loss parties this November, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Michael Alfonso:

• Was boosted by $125k from an LNG export company that his father-in-law had regulatory sway over.
• Accepted campaign donations from John Cafaro, the architect of the disastrous refurbishment of the Reflecting Pool outside the Lincoln Memorial.
• Was boosted by a $1 million donation from his father-in-law’s old campaign committee in his primary.
• Is an aspiring reality TV star.
• Believes that “Trump has done amazing” as president.
• May or may not even have a job.
