Whitnall Beer Garden Opens April 29th With Celebratory Free Beer and Root Beer
Greendale, WI — Milwaukee County Parks is excited to welcome the community back to the Whitnall Beer Garden for another season of great brews, bites, and outdoor fun. The 2026 season kicks off on Wednesday, April 29th at 8831 North Root River Parkway in Greendale.
Opening day kicks off at 4 p.m., followed by a brief ceremony at 4:50 p.m. with remarks from elected officials. Afterward, guests can enjoy a special 20-minute toast from 5 to 5:20 p.m., featuring complimentary beer and root beer to celebrate the start of the season.
A Look Back at 2025
In 2025 alone, the Whitnall Beer Garden:
- Sold almost 70,000 pints of beer
- Sold 9,000 non-alcoholic beverages
- Served 5,800 sausages
- Scooped 3,800 hand-dipped ice cream cones from its popular food vendor
What to Expect in 2026
This year’s season will continue offering beloved traditions and new reasons to visit:
- 24 craft beer handles, including selections from local breweries
- Live Music Series, with performances every Friday, Saturday, and many Sunday evenings, made possible by Molson Coors and Beer Capitol Distributing
- Food by Gift of Wings Grill, featuring:
- Fish Fry Dinners on Wednesdays and Fridays
- Taco Tuesdays returns as a fan favorite
- Pig Roast Days on select Sundays: June 14, June 21 (Father’s Day), and August 30, 2026.
