Upcoming 30-Hour System Ramp and Lane Closures This Weekend in the Mitchell Interchange

As part of the ongoing Mitchell Interchange resurfacing and improvement project in Milwaukee County, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is notifying motorists of upcoming closures within the interchange.

9 P.M. Friday, April 24 – 6 A.M. Sunday, April 26

  • The southbound I-43/94 to westbound I-894 system ramp in the Mitchell Interchange is scheduled to close for paving operations.
    • The posted detour will utilize Layton Avenue and WIS 241 (27th Street)
  • Double right lane closures on I-43/94 southbound between Howard Avenue and the Mitchell Interchange for paving operations

Weather contingency note: If this work cannot be completed due to inclement weather, the closures will be rescheduled to begin Saturday, April 25 at 9:00 P.M. through Monday, April 27 at 4:30 A.M.
