BRISTOL, Conn.Marquette University men’s lacrosse player Peter Detwiler was chosen 28th overall by the Carolina Chaos in the fourth round of the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) College Draft at ESPN’s Bristol headquarters on Tuesday evening.

Detwiler is a two-time team captain and, in 2025, became just the second SSDM in program history to earn USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention honors. He was also named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team that season after recording 37 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and three goals. Entering 2026, Detwiler earned Preseason All-America Honorable Mention recognition from Inside Lacrosse and was selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

During the 2026 season, Detwiler has recorded 22 ground balls and a career-high nine caused turnovers. His nine caused turnovers are tied for 10th nationally among SSDMs. Over his career, he has totaled 92 ground balls, 22 caused turnovers and eight points on six goals and two assists in 59 games for the Golden Eagles.

Detwiler becomes the third Marquette player selected in the PLL College Draft. Mason Woodward was chosen eighth overall by the Utah Archers in 2024, while Noah Richard was selected 14th overall by Waterdogs LC in the third round of the 2019 draft after earning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year honors. All other Marquette players who have competed in the PLL were acquired through the league’s dispersal draft, entry draft or free agent pool.

Detwiler now joins a pair of Marquette alumni in the PLL for the 2026 campaign, including Golden Eagles assistant coach Mason Woodward, a first-round pick by the Utah Archers in 2024, and fellow Carolina Chaos teammate Liam Byrnes.
