OAK CREEK, Wis. – The Wisconsin AFL-CIO announced its endorsement of Oak Creek Mayor and Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council President Dan J. Bukiewicz in his campaign for Wisconsin’s 21st Assembly District.
Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale released the following statement:
“The Wisconsin AFL-CIO is proud to endorse Dan Bukiewicz for Assembly District 21. Dan is a proven and dedicated leader for working people. We have the utmost confidence Dan will bring his vast experience, knowledge, and passion to the State Assembly to fight for working people on day one.”
Bukiewicz has spent his career advocating for working families as an electrician, labor leader, and public servant. As President of the Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council since 2014, he has worked to secure higher wages, safer working conditions, and stronger protections for workers across the region. Since being elected Mayor of Oak Creek in 2017, Bukiewicz has helped guide the city through significant growth while supporting local businesses and creating opportunities for working families.
“I’m honored to have the support of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO,” Bukiewicz said. “Working people built this state, and they deserve leaders who will fight for good-paying jobs, safe workplaces, and the freedom to join a union. I’ve spent my career standing with workers, and I’m ready to bring that fight to Madison.”
