(South Milwaukee, WI) – 1983 South Milwaukee High School graduate and nationally-touring professional comic Jackie Kashian will be one of four featured comics in Carole Montgomery’s Funny Women of a Certain Age, presented by South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center on Friday, March 6 at 7:30 pm. The nationally touring show is part of the SMPAC’s 2025-2026 Performing Arts Series. View Jackie’s personal invitation here.

What started as Carole Montgomery’s passion project to share the stage with her friends has grown into a groundbreaking comedy movement. Declared by The Today Show as “A hit!” A veteran of over 40 years in stand-up, Carole knew all too well that when she began, you’d never see two women on the same comedy lineup—and decades later, not much had changed. So she did something about it.

Funny Women of a Certain Age (WOACA) was born to showcase fierce, hilarious, and unapologetically authentic women over 50—women who paved the way for the comedians you see today. In 2019, WOACA shattered expectations when it became Showtime’s highest-rated stand-up premiere of the year. That first special made history, sparking two more Showtime specials that kept audiences laughing and wanting more.

Now, all three Funny Women of a Certain Age specials have been re-released by Comedy Dynamics, bringing this trailblazing comedy series back to the forefront where it belongs. With a rotating cast of powerhouse performers, WOACA proves that comedy doesn’t have an expiration date—it just gets sharper, bolder, and funnier with age.

These women aren’t just comedians—they’re legends, survivors, and game-changers. And they’ve got a hell of a lot more to say. The show’s creator Carole Montgomery will host a night of stand-up comedy along with three other comics:

  • Jackie Kashian grew up in South Milwaukee and graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1983. She has been seen on After Midnight, Conan, Corden, HBO, Netflix, Comedy Central, and heard on NPR and Audible. Her tour is called “The Job She Loves Tour.” Her 5 comedy albums and specials have been number one on Amazon and Apple and #3 on Billboard. In addition to two podcasts The Jackie and Laurie Show and The Dork Forest, you can also read her writing in “The Comedy Film Nerds Guide to Movies” and the comic book “Comics Comics Quarterly.” Currently, she is working on her new hour and will record and film her new album and special this year or watch her TINY comedy special “LOOKING BACK” shot from the camera of a Mazda 6 in reverse.
  • Tammy Pescatelli is an Emmy-nominated, American stand-up comedian celebrated for her sharp wit, observational humor, and relatable storytelling. Raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH, she developed her comedic voice in a big Italian-American family, which continues to inspire much of her material. Pescatelli first broke out as a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and later won Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Showdown in 2010. Her Netflix special Finding the Funny hit No. 3 on iTunes, and she co-created, executive-produced, and starred in the WE TV reality series A Stand-Up Mother. Her most recent special, The Way After School Special, ranked among Amazon’s top 10 streamed comedy specials in 2021. She also appeared in Netflix’s 2025 comedy-drama Nonnas alongside Vince Vaughn. Known for her bold, sarcastic, and raw take on family life, dating, and everyday struggles, Pescatelli continues to tour nationally, earning laughs with her signature mix of authenticity and bite.
  • Leighann Lord, named one of the 35 Most Hilarious Comedians of Diversity, was a national finalist in the American Black Film Festival-HBO Comedy Wings Competition, and received the NYC Comedy Award for the Most Thought-Provoking Black Female Comic. Leighann can be seen in Showtime’s Even More Funny Women of a Certain Age and her Dry Bar Comedy special, I Mean Business, has had over one million views. Classy like Lena. Sexy like Eartha. Funny like Leighann. She’s La Créme de la Comedy.
