By - Feb 24th, 2026 07:05 am

Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Veterans Resource Center (VRC) and Military Education Support Office (MESO) will host two educational benefit fairs at its Downtown and Oak Creek campuses to provide veteran students, dependents and spouses with important information on military benefit opportunities.

“We are deeply committed to providing veterans and their families with the specialized support and education they need to transition their valuable skills and dedication into successful careers,” said Jamie Hollins Mast, MATC’s VRC Student Services Specialist. “These fairs include information from professionals offering services that veterans have indicated they have the greatest needs.”

MATC offers veterans support services through the VRC and the Military Education Support Office.

Fair attendees can participate in breakout sessions to meet with the representatives from the following organizations:

  • Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Rogers Behavioral Health
  • The Wisconsin Institute of NeuroScience BRAVE (Building Resilience through Action in Veterans and first responders) Program
  • Veterans Business Outreach Centers
  • Tabak Law, a firm specializing in veteran disability benefits

The breakout sessions will be held at 11 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Free childcare drop-off is available for Downtown Campus attendees at our Little Stormers Village on a first-come, first-serve basis. Beverages will be served at both locations. As a special benefit, attendees will receive a haircut voucher to use at MATC’s Barbering and Cosmetology department during any of their upcoming guest service days.

MATC’s has a long-standing commitment to veteran students. In the 2024-25 academic year, MESO helped 259 student veterans, along with 151 spouses and children receiving veterans’ benefits. MATC also offers priority registration days for continuing and new students who are military veterans. MATC also honors veterans at commencement ceremonies by having them wear red, white and blue cords.
