MSOE Produces Highest-Earning Graduates in Wisconsin
Milwaukee School of Engineering graduates are in high demand and known for landing high starting salaries, and the proof is in the numbers—according to a new earnings indicator launched by the U.S. Department of Education, MSOE graduates’ median earnings four years out of college is $93,000, topping the list for Wisconsin institutions.
The U.S. Department of Education’s new earnings indicator was created to complement the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process. It takes existing department data to provide students and their families with clear information about a school’s post-graduation earnings. When filing the FAFSA, students will see median earnings for each school they are interested in attending.
The earnings indicator is part of the department’s broader strategy to enhance transparency in higher education. It provides students and their families with access to actionable information about postsecondary outcomes and value and empowers them to make data-driven decisions on their futures. Thee data used for the earnings indicator can be found on the FSA Data Center, and the department will update the metric when more recent earnings data become available on the College Scorecard.
Hands-on learning in small classes taught by industry-experienced faculty prepare MSOE graduates to hit the ground running after graduation. This year, nearly 350 employers came to campus for the Fall Career Fair and more will be in attendance at the Spring Career Fair on Feb. 18. More information on MSOE’s career outcomes rate and average starting salaries can be found in the 2026 Career Connections Center Annual Report.
