MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today his appointment of David Hughes to the Kenosha County Circuit Court – Branch 4. The appointment will fill the vacancy being created by Judge Anthony Milisauskas’ resignation. Hughes will complete a term ending July 31, 2027.

“David Hughes’ experience and commitment to the community will make him a great judge for the people of Kenosha County,” said Gov. Evers.

Hughes is a shareholder with the firm Puntillo Camilli & Hughes, S.C. in Kenosha, where he has practiced law since 2012. He maintains a general civil practice, representing clients in commercial litigation, estate planning, probate administration, and business transactions. Since 2021, he has also been a supplemental court commissioner for the Kenosha County Circuit Court, where he presides over small claims, juvenile, family, traffic, and criminal intake hearings.

“I have known David Hughes for many years, both personally and professionally, and I can say without hesitation that he will be an outstanding addition to the Kenosha County judiciary,” said Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Heather Iverson. “He is a skilled and thoughtful litigator, deeply committed to this community, and brings the integrity, temperament, and work ethic that our court system depends on. Kenosha County will be served well by his appointment.”

Hughes lives in Kenosha with his family and is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He is active in numerous community organizations, including holding leadership roles with the Kenosha County Bar Association, Friends of the Kenosha Public Museum, the Kenosha Public Museums Foundation, and serving as a commissioner for the Kenosha Housing Authority.

“It is with great humility that I accept Gov. Evers’ appointment to the Kenosha County Circuit Court,” said Hughes. “I aspire to continue the legacy of justice set forth by my predecessors, including Judges Warren, Wagner, Wilk, Bastianelli, Schroeder, and Milisauskas, as I serve the people of Kenosha County. Lastly, I cannot express sufficient gratitude for the support that I have received from my family, my friends, and my colleagues.”
