Rep. Fitzgerald Votes to Pass FY26 National Defense Authorization Act
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after voting to pass S. 1071, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026.
“I was proud to vote for the FY26 NDAA as it advances President Trump’s mission to keep America strong, secure, and dominant on the world stage. The bill accomplishes this by strengthening border security, accelerating next-generation military technologies, and investing in the ships, aircraft, and munitions needed to maintain American dominance. Most importantly, it puts our servicemembers first by authorizing a 3.8% pay raise and includes support for their families.

So proud to spend $1T on defense and $1T on interest on the national debt, (which we are incurring in support of out of control defense spending and tax cuts) because nothing says “strong country” more than a corrupt government and wealth inequality.
(The combined $2T in spending on the military and the debt incurred to support military spending equates to every adult in the US getting mailed a $7300 annual bill. If you are married that is $14,600 for the both of you and another $7300 for every adult child still living in your house because they can’t afford rent or a house. Awesome country).
