Milwaukee Habitat Receives $37,000 Wells Fargo Grant

MILWAUKEE, WI (11/24, 2025) –The Wells Fargo Foundation has awarded $37,000 in philanthropic funding to Habitat for Humanity International to support Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity to build two homes in Milwaukee. Milwaukee Habitat is one of more than 131 Habitat for Humanity affiliates awarded grant funding through the 2025 Wells Fargo Builds program to increase access to affordable homes across the U.S.

The grant supporting Milwaukee Habitat will help build two homes in the Midtown neighborhood of Milwaukee. The framing for these two four-story homes started this October and will finish next year.

Milwaukee is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis where one in three renters are spending half or more of their income on housing. Since 1990, home prices in the US have increased six times faster than wages, making it significantly harder for first-time buyers to purchase a home. To make matters worse, home prices in Wisconsin have more than doubled in the past decade. The Wells Fargo grant will support Milwaukee Habitat in their mission to help families invest in the stability and equity of homeownership.

“Milwaukee Habitat and Wells Fargo are teaming up to help two local families achieve their dream of homeownership,” said Andy Heuer, VP of Advancement, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. “This funding will have a generational impact, and we are grateful for this philanthropic investment in our work.”

This funding is part of a more than $4.6 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International through the 2025 Wells Fargo Builds program to help support more than 200 families in communities nationwide.
