St. Ann Center Announces Strategic Updates
Milwaukee, WI — Tim Sullivan, Board Chair of St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, has announced a series of strategic updates designed to strengthen the organization’s future and deepen its commitment to its mission. None of these recent changes will affect our normal daily operations. These changes follow the November 13 conclusion of former President and Chief Executive Officer Derek Goodman’s one-year contract.
During this transition, Sullivan will step in as the interim President and CEO. He has been involved with St. Ann Center for more than 25 years and currently serves as Board Chair. In this interim role, he will oversee daily operations, mentor and supervise the executive team, and continue to advance the organization’s commitment to a thriving mission, and long-term sustainability.
“Looking ahead, St. Ann Center remains focused on building a strong and vibrant future for the children, frail adults, and people with disabilities we serve,” he said. “Our mission continues to guide every decision we make.”
St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit known around the world for its innovative day care model that brings children, frail older adults, and adults with disabilities together in a warm, homelike setting. We serve approximately 500 Milwaukee residents daily from infants to centenarians and we have been doing so for over 42 years. We provide vital services well beyond those services provided by standard daycare centers. Most importantly, our centers significantly reduce the need to institutionalize individuals, which would cost the state approximately five times our daily rate of reimbursement.
Our unique approach creates a challenging financial situation as the center is reimbursed at standard daycare rates whereas the services provided significantly exceed these reimbursements. Accordingly, St. Ann Center relies on assistance through community fundraising to bridge our annual shortfalls. Periodically we must make changes in our organizational structure to maintain financial viability.
