Harambee Neighborhood Improvement District Announces First December Annual Board Election and Annual Holiday Celebration

Milwaukee, WI – The Harambee Neighborhood Improvement District (HNID#7) Board of Directors is pleased to announce its first combined HNID Annual Meeting and Holiday Celebration, scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Milwaukee Public Library Branch.

This special event marks a milestone moment for the Harambee community — combining an annual meeting and a holiday celebration for the first time in HNID’s history. The gathering will highlight the progress, community impact, and upcoming initiatives of HNID #7, including innovations that enhance HNID’s internal processes and operations, as well as strengthen transparency, engagement, and collaboration.

During the event, attendees will:

  • Receive updates on HNID programs, including home repair and neighborhood improvement efforts.
  • Review the proposed Operating Plan and budget for the upcoming year.
  • Celebrate the approaching milestone of $1 million stewarded back into the Harambee community or home repairs, supporting residents and Harambee Quality of Life.
  • Vote for the 2026 HNID Board of Directors.

“Our goal is to make sure residents and stakeholders are not only informed, but actively shaping our work in Harambee,” said Lakesha Wilder, Board Chair of the Harambee NID. “The Annual Meeting is one of the most important opportunities we have each year to listen, learn, and plan together.”
