Search Underway for 2025 City of Milwaukee Christmas Tree
Annual Tradition Continues with Hunt for 112th City Christmas Tree
It may still feel like summer, but the City of Milwaukee’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is already getting into the holiday spirit. The search is officially underway for the perfect tree to serve as the 2025 City of Milwaukee Christmas Tree.
In partnership with the Milwaukee Bucks, this year’s tree will once again be displayed in the heart of Deer District just outside Fiserv Forum, where it will stand as the centerpiece of the City’s holiday celebration.
DPW is now accepting nominations from Milwaukee residents and property owners who think they may have the perfect tree to donate. Eligible trees must be located within the City of Milwaukee. The ideal tree should be at least 30 feet tall and will be evaluated based on size, shape, uniformity, density and color. It also must be accessible for harvest by crane, with no overhead wires that would interfere with removal.
After a tree is selected, DPW Forestry staff will carefully remove it with a crane, grind the stump, and restore the site with soil and grass seed. The tree will be placed onto a flat-bed trailer and transported by police escort to its new home downtown.
Once installed, the tree will be decorated in partnership with Milwaukee entertaining and style expert, David Caruso, and lit at the tree lighting ceremony in November. The donors of the winning tree will have a prominent role in the tree lighting ceremony, joining Mayor Cavalier Johnson.
Residents who would like to have their tree considered should contact the City of Milwaukee by calling 414-286-CITY (2489) by Monday, September 29, 2025. All tree candidates will be evaluated and the best one will be selected.
One lucky tree will soon light up the Deer District and help the city ring in the season. Let the search begin.
Comienza la Búsqueda del Árbol de Navidad 2025 para la Ciudad de Milwaukee
Continúa la Tradición Anual con la Selección del Árbol Navideño Número 112 de la Ciudad
Aunque aún se siente como verano, el Departamento de Obras Públicas (DPW, por sus siglas en inglés) de la Ciudad de Milwaukee ya está entrando en el espíritu navideño. La búsqueda ha comenzado oficialmente para encontrar el árbol perfecto que será el Árbol de Navidad de la Ciudad de Milwaukee en 2025.
En colaboración con los Milwaukee Bucks, el árbol de este año será nuevamente exhibido en el corazón del Deer District, justo afuera del Fiserv Forum, donde se convertirá en el punto central de las celebraciones navideñas de la ciudad.
El DPW está aceptando nominaciones de residentes y propietarios dentro de la ciudad que crean tener el árbol ideal para donar. Los árboles deben estar ubicados dentro de los límites de la Ciudad de Milwaukee. El árbol perfecto debe tener al menos 30 pies de altura (aproximadamente 9 metros) y será evaluado por su tamaño, forma, uniformidad, densidad y color. También debe estar en un lugar accesible para ser retirado con grúa, sin cables aéreos que interfieran con su remoción.
Una vez seleccionado, el personal forestal del DPW retirará cuidadosamente el árbol utilizando una grúa, triturará el tocón y restaurará el lugar con tierra y semillas de pasto. El árbol será colocado en una plataforma y transportado con escolta policial hasta su nuevo hogar en el centro de la ciudad.
Después de su instalación, el árbol será decorado en colaboración con David Caruso, experto en entretenimiento y estilo de Milwaukee, y será iluminado oficialmente durante la ceremonia de encendido en noviembre.
