State Rep. Mayadev Champions Legislation to Protect Wisconsin Families in the Face of Federal Immigration Actions
Madison, WI — Today, State Representative Mayadev announced her strong support for newly introduced legislation designed to protect the safety and the rights of our Wisconsin families. In light of the current aggressive actions by ICE and other immigration enforcement agencies, this legislation reinforces protections for schools, places of worship, childcare centers, healthcare facilities, and other vital sensitive community spaces from unsubstantiated seizures or raids.
Representative Mayadev (D-77) released the following statement:
“Our shared commitment to all children, community safety, and human dignity is reflected in this legislation. Wisconsin must stand as a beacon of fairness and compassion, particularly when overreaching federal immigration actions threaten to encroach upon the safety and security of our children. We must stand with our children and families and protect them from unlawful actions that are based upon nothing but racial profiling and hate.”
