MILWAUKEE – Today, the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association (MTEA) announced its endorsement of candidates in this spring’s elections. A primary will be held on February 18 for races with more than two candidates and the general election will take place on April 1.

Today’s endorsements include:

Common Council District 3 Special Election:

MPS School Board

MTEA President Ingrid Walker-Henry issued the following statement announcing the endorsements:

“MTEA is proud to endorse candidates who are proven champions of MPS students, workers and families. The candidates our members have endorsed have each demonstrated a sincere commitment to advocate for the great public schools Milwaukee children deserve.

“MTEA is made up of more than 5,600 public education workers who do everything in our power to provide Milwaukee children with a safe, enriching and equitable public education. We are on the frontlines every day fighting to protect our students from forces that seek to harm their public schools by defunding, closing and privatizing them.

We offer our full endorsement to candidates who understand and respect the challenges public school workers, students and families face every day and who promise to fight alongside us in that mission.”
