Golden Eagles welcome five transfers, six freshmen to program

By - Dec 23rd, 2024 10:14 am

Second-year head coach Chris Allen has announced the addition of five transfers and six freshmen to the Marquette University women’s soccer program for the 2025 campaign.

Transfers Coco Dorfman (San Diego, Calif./Pittsburgh), Paige Dziedzic (Chicago, Ill./Pittsburgh), Jocelyn Leigh (Evanston, Ill./Loyola), Megan Murray (Glenview, Ill./Denver) and Hailey Wade (Fishers, Ind./Valparaiso) will arrive on campus in January for the spring semester.

“We are thrilled to bring in five very impactful individuals to our program through this transfer window,” Allen said.  “We bolstered our attack with the additions of Megan, Jocelyn, and Paige, and strengthened our defensive unit with Hailey and Coco joining us.

“These five players immediately elevate our talent level and with each of them having at least three years of eligibility remaining, the Marquette faithful will enjoy their impact on our program for years to come, Allen added.”

Freshmen Meg Decker (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School), Mary Fligg (Atlanta, Ga./Marist School), Olivia Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./Matea Valley), Ava Kozak (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township), Piper Lucier (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and Clare Shea (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) will also join the program next season.

“Goals! Goals! Goals! With five of the six incoming freshmen being goal scorers, it’s clear what the priority within this class was for our staff,” Allen said.  “We believe these six not only elevate our attack on the field, but will also contribute to our unique culture off of it.

“We can’t wait to get this class on campus this fall; however, there will be opportunity for a sneak peek as Clare (Shea) graduated early and will be joining us this spring,” Allen added.

The Golden Eagles’ Spring season is highlighted by the team’s first-ever foreign tour, which will occur March 7-15 in Italy.
