Milwaukee County’s 2024 Budget Positioned to Balance Without Additional Taxpayer Impact
MILWAUKEE – During today’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Task Force meeting, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley’s administration presented a proposal that would balance Milwaukee County’s 2024 budget. Milwaukee County Board Supervisor and Co-Chair of the ARPA Taskforce Shawn Rolland made the following statement:
“Milwaukee County’s 2024 budget is well-positioned to balance by year-end thanks to the outstanding work of County Executive Crowley, the County Board, and our talented county staff. The budget-balancing proposal shared today would maintain programs, retain staff, and continue to invest in priorities like affordable housing without asking taxpayers for a dime. The county hasn’t always kept the public’s trust, but this group of Milwaukee County leaders is distinct and different – they continue to make strategic and fiscally responsible decisions,” said Rolland.
The full details of the deficit reduction proposal can be found here.
